Elitism

Elitism is a complex and multifaceted concept that has been debated by philosophers, sociologists, and politicians for centuries. It refers to the belief or attitude that certain individuals, who form an elite, are more likely to be constructive to society and deserve greater influence or authority due to their desirable qualities such as intellect, wealth, power, or special skills. This concept is closely related to social class and social stratification, and is often opposed by ideologies such as egalitarianism, anti-intellectualism, populism, and pluralism.
