Edgar Codd

Edgar Codd worked at IBM and was a fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). His work has inspired new areas of research, including database theory and data mining. Relational databases are used in a wide range of applications, from banking and finance to healthcare and social media. Codd's work was influenced by Charles Babbage and Alan Turing.
